So despite finding out I didn’t win the job at work today. It’s my three day weekend and I get to take my beautiful granddaughter Cambria clothes shopping tomorrow for her birthday 🎂🧓👧💞. Can’t wait to see what she picks out. She is a very feminine girly girl and has very specific taste. Did I mention she’s only 7 lol. Pics to follow. #grancamday 😁. Antique Glass

I thought I would blog tonight about a renewed passion I have just rediscovered. About 13 years ago my husband and I started to go antiquing. We lived in Southwestern Ontario at the time and we found we had a knack for identifying treasures in second hand stores and at garage sales. We ended up collecting Antique Glassware from the late 1800’s to early 1900’s. Our collection grew quite large and we eventually sold a few valuable pieces on eBay. However we ended up selling it all to move cross country about 7 years ago and we haven’t started any real collecting since. We live on an Island where most antiques are either Asian or Indigenous artifacts. The items we prefer are all from the USA. Now many years later after finding a sweet piece locally. I feel like I have been bit by the bug yet again! Stay tuned I will be blogging alot about Northwood, Tarentum, Heisey and various other glass makers in the near future.

Let’s rate apps that track our journey into being a non-smokers……okay well my journey 🤓

Okay so these four apps are pretty decent which is why I downloaded them. When I attempt to quit smoking I am looking for certain criteria which I feel is important:

#1 an app that lets me put in my stats so it will calculate how much I have not smoked and the best part how much 💰 I have saved. 😁

#2 an app that has positive messages to make me feel good about what I am doing 🤗

#3 an app that has some games to help pass the time 🤪🤯

#4 most importantly and the reason to try quitting is to see the health benefits so having this displayed and updated as time progresses is very important to me.🤓😎💞💪👍

It’s been a long day and I am heading to bed early so I will have part two of this posted tomorrow. This will give me an additional 24 hours of app use to rate 👍 Goodnight all.

Update. Sorry folks. I had good intentions but not enough will power to follow through and had a relapse. Once I try round two I will comment further on the app’s.

Deepression…….such a sadness

My gosh only halfway through the long weekend and it strikes. No desire to do anything. Exhausted. Pain from the sadness. Feeling so sorry for myself. Questioning all of my life choices. Wish it would end and I could go back to my happy self😢. Hard to bounce back. Maybe to tomorrow I will get off the couch more…….stop having these feelings, become myself again if there is any of me left in here…….. For anyone feeling this way you know it’s not something you want to share with family. You suffer in silence and make up excuses to stay home and continue feeling sorry and sad. Mine is usually brought on by the stress of paying bills or knowing there is no money available for the things we need in life or to do anything fun. Results in time stuck in the apt wishing I had what everyone else does. Maybe tomorrow will be brighter.

Global Warming…. reduction of plastic usage….and legal marijuana packaging.

So I read last week that that Canadian Government has declared an environmental emergency and that they are planning to outright ban items like single use grocery bags, plastic spoons, forks etc. I find it totally bizarre that government supplied cannabis comes in so much plastic and cardboard packaging that it is probably more expensive than the tiny bit of product inside. Come on really??? Each gram comes in a box with a hard plastic insert. Each 3.5 gram container is a big plastic jar like a jar of face cream and the product inside could fit in a tiny pill bottle. Jeez way to not practice what you preach Liberal Government. This has been a political rant by me….😠🤬

Another Canada Day long weekend is upon us. “Happy Birthday Canada”🎂🍾🎉🎆🇨🇦

Today is only a start and most people worked today and yet I have heard sirens about a dozen times, seen many police officers and witnessed many people staggering around in a drug induced high or drunken stupor…..if this is only the start of the celebration I am afraid of what’s going to happen the rest of the weekend…..I will keep you posted. Update July 1st….quiet the rest of the weekend. I’m quite surprised but that’s good news. Disappointed that the live feed of the fireworks lasted only a few minutes and was an obstructed view. Way to hype everyone up for disappointment Victoria BuzzFeed 😠
